Audio for editing: a WAV track for your audio or video project

Take the soundtrack of a video as uncompressed WAV, ready for an audio editor or a video project — without uploading the footage.

Step by step

  1. Pick the footage

Choose the video from Photos or Files, or share it to Tonify from another app.

  2. Choose WAV

WAV stores the audio without compression, so editing does not add new losses. CD-quality stereo takes about 10 MB per minute; the estimated size is shown before anything runs.

  3. Move it to your editor

The WAV is saved in On My iPhone › Tonify. Open it in your editing app from the Files app, or AirDrop it to a Mac.

WAV is bigger, not better

WAV avoids further losses while you edit, but it cannot restore detail the video's own audio never had. When the project is finished, MP3 or M4A is the smaller file to share.

Try it on your iPhone

Tonify pulls the audio out of any video as MP3, M4A or WAV, or cuts a 30-second ringtone — converted on your phone, with no upload.
